This is the perfect adult only getaway. Warm and cozy best describes this newly renovated cottage. Inside, guests will find a fully equipped kitchen, a smart TV in both the living room and bedroom with complimentary Roku TV, electric fireplace, games and books.
Outside, guests may enjoy the colorful Bohemian feel of the backyard while listening to music and soaking in the hot tub that is tucked away in the "Tub Hut", enjoy a refreshing outdoor shower under nature's pergola of 40' trees. Roast up some S'mores around the new Solo Stove Bonfire fire pit, playing corn hole, darts or dining at the patio table. Firewood and barbecue grill with propane is provided.
Bring your boat or jet ski, we have a good sized driveway out front for your toys.
In less than 5 minutes, enjoy Lake Wallenpaupack Dam Overlook, Public Boat Launch and Fishing Dock, Palymra Beach and the town of Hawley. No matter the season, this area offers something for everyone: boating, swimming, kayaking, golfing, fishing, hiking, skiing, rafting, sightseeing, train excursions, breweries, wineries and more.
The location of our cottage is perfectly situated so that you can be close to it all without being in the middle of it. It is minutes away from Lake Wallenpaupack, walking trail, beach, Wallenpaupack brewery, restaurants, and bars. In a half hour or less, you can enjoy hiking in Promised Land State Park, rafting down the Delaware River or skiing at Big Bear. It is suggested that you have a vehicle to enjoy this area.

Summary: This perfect cottage looks exactly like the pictures! Very updated inside - well equipped kitchen and plenty of space in the living area. Access to washer / dryer which is great after the hot tub. The bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to get out of it. And please tell me where you got your pillows and comforter… we want them!!!! The outside of the home was equally great too! Although it snowed so we didn’t get to partake in a fire outdoors or lounge outside however, we used the hot tub all weekend - multiple times a day! The speakers were a nice touch as well to listen to our favorite music, and it snowed while we were in the hot tub, so the cool air was refreshing. Only one item I would suggest is probably a bigger rug at the front door or a tray for shoes because I felt awful that my shoes were wet coming in from the snow. The towels in the bathroom were luxurious, and there were plenty of them. And having hair products was a very nice touch and one less thing I had to pack. This place is close to some shops and lots of restaurants. The Ridge is probably the most popular restaurant in town and reservations are definitely needed. The ski resorts are around an hour away but the drive was lovely. Overall, this is probably one of my favorite stays at any VRBO and I definitely plan on coming back. Thank you to our hosts for making our weekend unforgettable!

Summary: This was a great find for us. We have been coming here for anniversaries for quite some time, but in the last few years hotel rates have gone thru the roof. This place is way better than a hotel, and close to everything. Its just big enough, with a fire pit, grill and hot tub!! And the host could not have been more responsive when contacted. Consider this stay for the Hawley area, and you will not be disappointed.

Summary: Setting Sails Cottage scores 3 C’s : clean, cute and cozy. Mark was a terrific host. All questions texted to him were promptly answered. We loved the wooded surroundings and all the wonderful amenities. The bed was certainly comfortable. There were many extra touches that we haven’t found in other rentals. The pancakes were delicious, and we enjoyed the wine. (not together!) I’d suggest adding some tongs to the kitchen. I can’t think of anything missing in the bathroom. Mark and Jess have thought of everything. It was an outstanding home to spend time at for a couple.
